Life on Board
Volo Mare means "flight over the sea". She earns the name.
She is a 38-metre Azimut, launched in 2023. Most yachts her size cruise at 12 or 13 knots. She cruises at about 21. In the Aegean, that turns a long passage into a lazy morning.
Use it to reach the Small Cyclades. The islands most yachts never have time for.
Leave Athens and fly south-east. Lunch off Paros. Then on to Naxos for the night, with dinner in the old town below the Venetian castle.
The next day, continue to Koufonisia. Tiny islands with beaches so clear the boats seem to float. Pori and Fanos are pure turquoise. Swim, snorkel, repeat.
Then Schinoussa and Iraklia. Quiet, rugged and almost unvisited.
Finish at Amorgos. The cliffside monastery of Hozoviotissa hangs above the sea. This is where The Big Blue was filmed. The water lives up to the legend.
Back on board, the beach club is your private shoreline.
Three Seabobs. A three-seater jet ski. An Awake electric surfboard. Four paddleboards. A kayak, a wakeboard, water skis, a banana and an inflatable sofa. An inflatable platform extends the swim deck.
The foredeck has a jacuzzi with open sea views.
There are three outdoor dining areas – main deck, bridge deck and sundeck. Two indoor saloons give families space and privacy.
The master suite on the main deck has its own balcony. The VIP sits on the upper deck. The six cabins can be set as five doubles and a twin, or three doubles and three twins.
Starlink keeps everyone connected. Basic gym kit is on board for morning sessions.
A crew of seven to eight takes care of the rest.
More islands. Less time in transit. That is Volo Mare.
