Life on Board
Lavrion is the Cyclades' back door. And Aether uses it well.
The port sits at the tip of Attica, an hour from Athens airport. Leave the dock and you are almost immediately in open water, with the first islands on the horizon.
This is a week for the western and northern Cyclades. Islands that feel more Greek than glossy.
Start with Kea. Terraced hills, old oak forests and quiet bays like Otzias and Koundouros. Swim, then climb to the village of Ioulida for the view.
Sail on to Syros. Ermoupoli is the capital of the Cyclades, a neoclassical town with marble squares and an opera house. It is elegant and lived-in.
Then Tinos. A place of pilgrimage, dovecotes and marble villages. The food scene is one of the best in the islands.
Finish at Andros on the way back. Green valleys, waterfalls and long, empty beaches.
On board, Aether is made for slow afternoons.
Her standout feature is the jacuzzi in the forward cockpit. It is the spot for the golden hour. Warm water, a cold drink, the islands turning pink.
The flybridge is a true ocean terrace. Sunbathing beds, a shaded lounge and wide views.
The aft cockpit is where everyone gathers. Long lunches. Alfresco dinners. Easy conversation.
Inside, the saloon is modern and bright. Four cabins sleep eight guests. One is a full owner's suite. Three have queen beds. Each has its own bathroom.
She was refitted in 2023, so everything feels fresh.
A crew of three looks after the group. Captain Nikos knows these waters well. The chef and stewardess handle the rest, quietly and well.
Close to Athens. Far from the crowds.
