Life on Board
Some yachts keep you above the water. Sol Madinina brings you down to it.
She sails from Athens Marina into the Saronic Gulf. Hydra comes first. An evening walk along the harbour. A drink as the lights come on.
Next morning, the side balconies fold open. Two terraces appear, just above the sea. Coffee tastes different here.
Then Spetses. Pine-covered hills, quiet coves and seaside tavernas.
At anchor, the stern becomes a beach club. The hydraulic platform lowers. The day begins.
Ride the Jet Surf across the bay. Fly silently on the E-Foil. Explore the reef with two Seabobs, or go deeper with the scuba gear.
The children take the donuts. The adults stretch out on the inflatable sofa. Everyone snorkels. There are ten sets on board.
Midweek, Dokos and Ermioni offer calm water and space. Paddleboards and a double kayak make the most of it. Water skis and wakeboards come out too, in adult and kids' sizes.
Lunch is in the shaded aft cockpit. Your chef cooks with fresh Mediterranean ingredients.
Afternoons belong to the foredeck. Sun loungers. A jacuzzi. Nothing but horizon.
At sunset, the flybridge bar opens. The view reaches across the Aegean.
Later, Poros. Then a slow return to Athens, with a final swim in a hidden cove.
On longer charters, the Cyclades are within reach. Paros. Milos. Mykonos.
Five cabins sit across both hulls. The owner's suite has a king bed, a jacuzzi bathtub and a separate shower. The VIP has a king bed and a desk. Three queen cabins complete the layout, each en-suite and full of light.
A crew of five takes care of the rest.
The route. The restaurants. The water sports.
You just step off the balcony and into the sea.
